Bring product to market faster.
Designtex’s Digital Studio uses digital printing to provide on-demand manufacturing. No physical stock is required, as products are created as needed by customers. This means the catalog of offerings can be everchanging enabling Designtex, a Steelcase subsidary, to bring products to market faster and use the platform as a testbed for new ideas without the waste and overhead of traditional manufacturing.
Provide custom designs in a pinch.
Interior design deadlines are often tight resulting in designers falling back to products they routinely use. Designtex’s Digital Studio enables customers to quickly select a material, a pattern, and then customize enabling them to provide their clients with tailored options that feel bespoke without the added price-tag and time.
Choose a substrate. Begin with blank surface materials like wallpaper or upholstery.
Choose a pattern. Designtex can add new options at any time to give customers endless design possibilities.
Customize + visualize. Choose from preset colors or enter your own, change the scale and view the results in 3D.
From proof-of-concept to product.
Our initial engagement focused on building a prototype to validate our assumptions and enable their team to determine market-fit. After completing an MVP, we orchestrated a first round of user tests that provided some initial learnings to integrate into the product. We taught our user testing process to the Designtex team, so they could continue reaching out to potential users for feedback. These efforts proved so successful that the Designtex team launched the MVP of Digital Studio publicly. Today, Designtex's customers can use the Digital Studio app to order on-demand swatches customized to their projects needs.
